changing control arm...any tips?
Ok i got into alil accident, bent my inner tie rod and control arm , changed the tie rod and now changing this control arm sometime this week. Any tips or anything when taking this off, do i have to take out the hole shock or just compress the spring, what can i expect?

you dont have to touch the shock at all 1st disconect the sway bar endlinks(is easier if you use another jack to raise the old control arm to do it) disconect the ball joint with a fork type tool avaliable for that, unscrew the 3 bolts from the front bushing pin and the 3 that holds the rear bushing plate(is better to have a break handle or a 3/4 ratchet and long pipe to apply some torque those screws) install in reverse order

This is how I would do it:
disconnect strut from knuckle by unbolting two lower bolts--leave the strut attached by its upper bolts. Disconnect tie rod from knuckle. Remove end of axle from knuckle (but leave other end in tranny)--wrap the outer boot with a shop towel for safety. Undo ball joint. Both tie rod and ball joint have cotter pins that need to be removed. Remove FSB endlink attachment (your endlink may be shot...check them to see if you need to replace them). Remove front control arm bolt and then the rear control arm retaining bracket.
Edit: i should add that an air impact wrench will save you a lot of time and effort...the difference between an hour a side vs. two a side.

Just remove the rear pivot and the nut off the end of the front pivot.

you are right but i removed the pivot to clean it you just have to lose the bolts only like the haynes manual say as for removing the bolts that hold the shock and the knuckle you DONT HAVE DO IT there is no need unless you are changing your shocks, springs, mounts or cv joint the haynes manual tell you exactly the steps by step that how i did mine
