techno ECU vs udp

techno ECU vs udp
I have been wondering if its worth aobut double the price to get the technosquare ECU over the unorthodox racing udp? I have a 97, so i guess i have to go to a junkyard and find a 95-96 ECU or buy one from someone???? this seems like a hassle, and how much would it be to buy one? and is the ecu really 2 or 3 times better than a udp?

what do you mean worth double? these mods are completely different in every way. you need to do some research and find out what these mods do and what best fits your plan for your car.

With a UDP, you need to replace you belts as well. From my readings, I've learned that ECU upgrade gives you power throughout the entire powerband. UDP on the other hand allows for a faster revving engine. For pure HP gains, the ECU will probably be better.

get UDP, it's cheaper and release stress on engine revving throughout the entire rpm range. the performance gain is noticible.
ECU requires more work. i say get the basic bolt-ons first then get ECU. (intake, y-pipe, UDP, catback)

i have both. i got the UR UDP before my technosquare ecu however. i could barely tell the power that the UDP added or actually "released". with the technosquare ecu i could def fell the extra pull throughout the whole powerband. i would recommend the ecu over the udp if you want more power. it really is not that much trouble, i have a 97 also. just buying an older ecu and send it to technosquare for a few days then just take the old one out and put the new one in.
