Cruise Control Problem

I have a 95 SE 5-speed and my cruise control hardly ever works. I can turn the button on and it will light up, but when I try and hit the cruise on the steering wheel, nothing happens. It will work every once in a great while. Is there anything specific I can check. Thanks.

Mine doesn't blink. It just doesn't work all the time. What components are there to the cruise control.

im not sure about the maxima but most cars cruise control works by applying vaccum to a vacuum motor that is attached to the second throttle cable thats attached to the throttle body. To control the vacuum motor there are two valves, one to apply vacuum (normally closed valve)and one to release vacuum (normaly open valve).Try to check the operation of all of these components and check all the vacuum lines that are attached to them. I hope this helps

It could also be related to your clockspring not being connected properly...does your horn work?

Well I had a fuel injector code a while back and when I fixed it, I checked it after that and had no codes. I haven't checked in the last month or two though. Do you do it the same way you would when you are getting a light?
