suspension question

i have a stock 1996 maxima with 108k miles, i need to replace my struts. should i replace with aftermarket for better handling. if so just replace struts, or springs or the whole thing? what is the best application? im looking for something that is bolt on and i can do myself. thank you

custommaxima.com has some good suspension stuff. I like the Tokico Kits they have. As for bolt on yourself, yeah you could probably do it but your gonna need a spring compressor and also you need to know how to do an alignment afterwards. The alignment is very very very important after you do that kind of suspension work.

You would not hurt your struts, but you would bounce yourself all over the road. It would probably not be too comfortable.

On the flip side, if you replaced your springs and kept the stock struts, it would probably blow your struts.
