Stingray Vettes
What are the odds of beating a stingray corvette in a 96 5spd maxima with no engine mods?......i blew by one on the highway and he got on my rear and couldnt pass me til i let up on the gas that was at around 100mph.....just wondering...also does a neon with nitrous pose a threat....you could say im a lot into racing, now if i just had the money to do stuff to the engine....
hahaha....yeh yeh....no 16 actually, and actually do you have any idea what the 0-60 on a stingray is????......around 7secs(according to motor trend) depending on the year....now top speed diff story, torque, alright well we wont go there.....plus not all stingrays were created equal....we are talking domestic here, and i dunno what year it was not being a stingray buff...smog regs were in the 70's wanna know how much horsepower the cobra R equivalent had in the 70's???....try a whopping 134 hp.......but really.....thats the truth, and anyone with useful info please respond because im curious....course it coulda always been a kit car...so who knows.....and no im not some dumba$$ that thinks a maxima can do a diablo equivalent 0-60 in 3.9 or do low 4's like a Viper. But thats just my 2 cents and what do i know im 16.
OK, Intelligent reply to my smarta$$ comment.
Cars from the 60's / 70's were set up differently. Nobody cared how fast their cars went. It was a pure drag race back then. If you're talking about a real Stingray with 427 in it and geared...let's say with 4:10 ratio, then I guarante that no max will keep up with it to 100. I would also find it hard to believe that the crack-smokers at MotorTrend tested a Stingray at 0-60 in 7 seconds. I want their drugs.

i was in my friends LT1 formula at the street races yesterday nite and our first race was against a old vette. we gave the guy 1 car length head start and pulled about 5 cars on him by 80. but that's an LT1, not a max. personally, i think it would be a close race.
a neon on nitrous could pose a threat to a stock max. i have a friend with a neon on the bottle that runs low 14s, but he's got alot of other mods to go with it.
