idle RPM changes with vent setting?

Hey has anyone else noticed that their idle will increase when you push the vent setting to up to the windshield? Nothing to do with the A/C or the heat/temp control. When I go from foot or face setting for the fan to "up" (or windshield), my idle jumps up like 200 RPM. Anyone else see this?

My rpm doesn't change but when I do set it to windsheild, I can here a louder noise coming from the engine bay; it started after I installed the intake.

'Up towards the windshield' is the defroster and yes the compressor will kick in to remove moisture and blow dry air, therfore kicking up your idle.

When I put on my defrosters, I get a hissing noise that gets slightly louder when I accelerate. Its pretty annoying. Only does it in defrost. Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me?

Mine only gets higher when teh AC is on and the AC is on when the Front Defroster is on.

BTW Everyone's car gets louder when they turn on the defroster.

boyzindahood978, does it do it with the AC on. Maybe it's a leak in the AC system?
I have a slight RPM jump with the defrost on too.

Terran, i checked it today and I get a distinct hissing noise from the passenger side dash both when I put the AC on or when I put on the defrosters. I need the AC to be recharged because it barely gets cold. I hope I don't have a leak because that will add to the many other problems I have with my car.
