Whistling / beeping sound under the hood @ idle :(
I have a whistling / beeping noise under the hood of my car when my car idle's, it's allmost an electrical noise, it's there when it idle's, but when I give her a little juice so it goes rev's a little higher, the noise dissapears. I first thought it would be a belt, but all the belts are tight, so I checked for leaking hoses, allso none so far I can see.
Somebody knows what the heck could be wrong?
I have 257.832 km's on the car, and the car runs perfect. Although I have a rough starting problem if the engine is cold, it takes a while before it turns over. When it runs it runs perfect, except for that damn noise.
Hope you guys can give me some answers...

I have the same problem, I think. I don't hear beeping though. I was told, and saw it was a belt, so I had the whole assembly replaced, but I still get the noise. I'm not really sure what to do now except have them check it again.

do u have an aftermark intake ducting with filter if so thats the noise at an idle because you can hear the air squeezing past the throttle plate as for the beeping i dont know but if there was a thumping it would most likely be either fast idle solenoid or the intake air control valve hope that helps

Going to check those things out asap. Thanks for the reply's, however I don't really get how my starter would make such a noise, if the engine is running, the starter should not run with the engine together, ar does it spin along with the engine?

I had the whistling noise for a while myself, and finally last week, my car died on me, took it to the mechanic, and he replaced my alternator, since then, no more whistling... the same thing happened to my old car also.. get that checked out

Looks at your A/C compressor, mines sound like yours and i know that that sound comes from my A/C compressor. It's the bearings in the compressor.
If you look closely, you will probably see some red rusty dust around the pulley of the A/C compressor.
