were both completely stock unless u classify a K&N air filter a mod, i dont but anyway and were both auto sadly

we met up ryte near my house and from there we went to the streets
i have to admit its a quick car we raced three times

the first time i was 1/2 car length ahead of him until i slowed down cuz of traffic we got up to about 120km/h about 75 mph i won that one

the second time we had a nice stretch of road i had aobut a car lenght on him until about 140 kmh 150 kmh about 90 mph after that he started pulling away he won that one

and then the third time we had a nice stretch of road again from a stop i ryte away took him of the line about half a car lenght ahead of him but then we both had to slow down cuz the light ahead was red and that one was too close to tell who won

is it just my max or do all maxs have really bad top end speed cuz after like 100mph it doesnt speed up as fast as like 70 - 100mph

and what kinda mods can i do to get more top end speed
im bone stock ryte now

thanx guys
lates

your car isnt gonna have as much kick at 100 as it does at 70... but you probably feel that way because you dont know what other cars can do at 100.... this kid i know has a sunbird with a 3.1 V6 which is a big engine for that car, considering its the same body style as the cavalier... well anyway we were on the highway and he put the pedal to the floor and i couldnt believe how long it took to get from 70 to 100.. the needle was barely moving lol... when im going about 95-100 and i floor it, i still feel a boost so i consider it quick...

oh i know

dont get me wrong it still has some kick but like against that solora i felt like it couldve gone faster but the solora kept pulling away

and also i was doing a top speed test like a month back or whatever and i hit 201kmh which is about 125mph but it took FOREVER to get there like after 180 it climbs soooo slow
and i read on here that these stock maximas get up to like 135 and stuff

could it be cuz my max has like 140,000 km on it about 88,000 miles could that having to many kilometres/miles on a car bring down the power

Well that's true for auto, but anyone with a 5Spd will tell you that our cars pull HELLA hard in 5th gear. I have no problem ever getting to 145, it flies up there real quick.

Um....yeah I can vouch for that....just tap the gas on the interstate and you're going 120+ before you know it.

Where is it that you guys find the opportunity to go that fast?

145? Jesus Christ.

How were you drving? with OD? without OD?

you do know that going up to 80 you should have your OD off and then when you are hitting high speeds then you turn on your OD

i have a 5spd and unlike the Maxima Auto that really has 3 direct drive gears and 1 over drive.. the 5spd has 5 real gears.. and i pull hard right up to 130

Can't say I really fell in love with my Max until I took a drive up to Northern Cal from Orange County. I took the grapevine (the 5) which is pretty much straight farm roads. Every time I had an open stretch of road (which was really frequent at 2:00am on a Sunday night), I couldn't help but open up the engine and watch the need climb easily from 100mph to 110, 115, and 120. Even at 120, the engine ran smooth and steady, no vibration from the wheels and still pedal room to play with.

I never experienced the car "hesitate" even at 110mph when I wanted to go faster. Might be different if I had an auto but who knows....

Exactly.

That's what I wanna know. I have a 95 gxe so I have a limiter at 110 which I only tested twice. But i don't think i'd go much faster than that.
