Injen install?

Just got the injen intake in the mail today. I've installed a frankencar intake before, thought it'd be a piece of cake. Took the stock intake off, ended up breaking the MAF sensor in the process by dropping it. Can't believe this is a 450 dollar part. I decided to glue it back together and continue with the install. Followed the directions, they said to plug the air sensor from the stock airbox into the upper pipe. I don't have any sensors in my stock airbox to begin with. What are they referring to here? A pic would be awesome

keep looking, I have a 96 so mine was bolted to the air box and looks like a small resistor. I believe on 98s the airtemp sensor just looks like a long plug. It sould be on the box or in the hose that goes to the throttle body.

my air temp sensor was located inside the stock airbox as well, look around. also the total wire for the sensor was all sealed together with the harness for the MAF so it houldnt be too far from there. that sensor isnt really needed anyway so if you cant find it im sure you can survive. i just have my sensor dangling next to where the stock airbox used to be, noticed no difference.

Which intake did you get? The 1925 or the 1930? The 1925 is made for the 95-96 maximas that have a air temp sensor which goes into the elbow of the intake right before it reaches the throttle body. If you have the 1930 (which you should because you have a 98) Then there should be no place for it since you do not have the air sensor. I'm finishing up my philosophy paper right now, but I'll go snap a pic in a little while. Hope this helps for now.

I have the 1925.....on the box it says 6/94-6/98 and my build date is 5/98 so thats what I ordered. I've taken the stock air box off 3 times already and looked around and still don't see what they have in the picture.

Sounds like a job for duct tape!

Either that or send it back and order a new one with less holes. RTFM j/k

for 98's. there is no sensor in elbow, its a tiny small sensor that u'll see once u take stock airbox out. its near maf sensor and its pluged into one of the pipes that goes from the front above radiator all the way back. once u take this off, ull see it plugged in the pipe.

insert the sensor in the hole in the smaller piece of the injen intake pipe...

No offense taken, but buddy if you read the whole post he says that he got the 1925 which is for the 95-96's but injen gave these weird production dates.

He's looking for the sensor which he obviously doesn't have. He said he looked through the intake 3 times looking for the sensor. I snapped the pics to show what the sensor looks like and where it came from.

No offense
