Cruise control problem

Please, share you experience!

Cruise control doesn’t work. I switch it on with the switch on the dashboard (it turns green), but when I push the button on the steering wheal, the sign ‘cruise’ on the gadget panel starts blinking and, of course, car doesn’t ‘cruise’.

I checked the vacuum pump (on the driver side of firewall) – put 12v on the contacts. Sounds like working. Also put 12v on the valve (there 2 of them – ‘open’ – no effect, ‘close’ – works somehow) – throttle opened just a little bit. Applied vacuum (from the tire compressor) to the diaphragm - throttle opened completely.

What does it mean? What else could be done? Can I check signals from computer? What should these signals look like (pulses, but …)?

Appreciate your advice, VG.

my cruis control does not work because the switch under the clutch pedal is deactivated because of my remote starter...just something to look into if your on stick.
