SEL due to 06-04 code, but not coil problem
I have a 1999 Maxima GLE with about 106,000 miles on it. I just received a SEL light and the car runs rough at low idle or accelerating. I thought it might be a bad coil, but I moved the suspect coil from cylinder 5 to cylinder 3 and received the same code from the ECU. I'm pretty sure I reset the ECU correctly by turning the screw clockwise to stop waited a few seconds returned counter-clockwise to stop then repeated the step. I then started the car, which seemed to run and drive pretty smooth, but SEL light was still on. I checked the ECU output again and received the same lights 06-04 , meaning problems with cylinder 5. I just replaced the spark plugs with Bosch platinum +2. Any ideas where to go next? I know there is a possibility that a new spark plug could be bad, but that should be slim.
Thanks for any advice,
Robert

your injector is screwed. contact me if u want to buy one. ive got some for $45 shipped. they have 25,000 kms on it. and by the way. take thoes spark plugs out and put some ngk coppers in.
check the connection to the coil pack. mine was loosely plugged in even though it felt alright, wiggle the connector as the car is idling and see if it changes anything. i also though my injector was bad, but it wasn't just the plug connection was off.
I would try driving a few miles with the coil packs switched. It may take a little bit of time for the ECU to throw a new code.
If you don't get a code for cylinder #3 then try checking the resistance of the injector for #5.
