Vogtland Lowering Springs
wanted to know if anyone has a Vogtland drop on a 4th gen? i got sum illuminas off ebay and they sent vogtland sport lowering springs (didnt expect that to come with it...musta been a mistake). i was only expecting the illuminas. the only thing that im questioning is that is says Audi A4 on the box...its model number va950052, ha950051 or 950048 (all 3 numbers listed) . I really hope its not for an A4...it says its a 1.4 inch drop so i might see if it fits and compare the drop to my present H&R setup...if anything i will be selling to an audi owner for $170 brand new in box
of course when i get the illuminas on u can expect to see HP's for sale...either that, or i will have those as my back up, and stock struts as my back ups back up. just let me know if anyone has these Vogtland jump offs

Wrong numbers for the 4th gen Max.
952143 952144 are the front and rear part numbers for our cars. 952145 is the part number for the set of 4
From Vogtland's web:
"Audi A4, Typ B5,Limousine, 6 Zyl., und Diesel, ohne 2.5l TDI 11.94>11.2000 35 1, 15, 21, 22, 31 TÜV 950048"
950051 & 950052 are the front and rear part numbers with 950048 being the psrt number for the set of 4. They do it strange.
You obviously got someone elses order. I would doubt the Illuminas you got are correct either.

i got the right illuminas...wrong drop springs......
i didnt get to put the illuminas on yet...im working on an interior project right now, but i will probably have the illuminas on by wednesday. as soon as i do ill tell you how the ride is. presently i have Tokico HP (blues) and H&R drop and the ride is basically a stock feel...very comfortable. unfortunately the back right strut is blown and i expect an even softer ride from the illuminas

The drop is nice... not too radical, about 1.5".
I'm on 215/60/15's on OEM honeycomb rims. I measure 26" exactly from ground to fender through the center of the wheel, and 26 1/4" right and 26 1/8" left on the rear.
I'll leave final judgement on the ride till later. I want to let things settle a bit and get a thorough alignment so I can give it a fair review. I've had the front end completely apart twice now. All new bushings, suspension rubber, wheel bearings, axels, and Matt's lower tie bar. The alignment is a mess.
Preliminary feeling is that this combo, Illumina/Vogtland, will suite my needs just right. Nice drop, stiff when it needs to be and comfortable when cruising. Yes it's a compromise, but for me, a good one.
More to come
