blue L.E.D in security blinking light
just letting ppl know that i just changed the factory security red l.e.d bulb to blue and it looks sweet at night. you can too for a low cost of $2.59......go to radio shack, buy blue led 3.7v and pop out old red led and replace...takes 2 minutes. fyi, the 99 you have to solder it back to the way the old one or else it won't work.
thanks anthony for the idea.
clee i'll do urs soon when i have time from work, u can do my corners

Cool.
How about I pop a green one in there... just for fun.
Blue is cool. Just as long as it's bright so thieves so I have the crappy factory alarm.

BTW, Love the looks of your max...color. Eyebrows look pretty nice too. Why in the world would you want to change the color....I saw earlier post. Looks great as is. I've got a 97 like BrianV's. Same color etc. Wish I had some of his mods and tires
My vote, keep your color. Like your rims too. How much did they set you back? Maybe in the future. I'm still on the little stuff.Cheers

Like the idea. Went to Radio Shack and the only BLUE LED I can find is a 5V. Is this the one? Also, the led is a clear head with two long wires. Again, is this the one? I'd like to try but want to get the right part first.
Does it just plug right in????
It's the 3.5 V ... and it has a clear head with two long wires. It should say the color on the package.
It's sorta just plug and play. You have to be careful when taking the led out and then bend the wires to fit the new one in there.

I think
He was referring to how in that sig pic, the picture is so blurry, that the dark area around the tails appears even darker than usual.
It isn't "eyebrowed" its just a byproduct of the filters he used in Photoshop or whatever to create the effect.

I was thinking about doing this but I wasn;t sure how bright the blue would be during the day. . . I may do white though as that lights up really bright at 3.7 volts. . . I have blue and white in my driver side window switches so I want it to match.
It's pretty bright in the daytime actually. And we all know that a stupid little LED light isn't going to deter any real theives. I don't know, but I think white might get "washed out" if it's really bright out. You could always try it and see.

i'll do it for u
swing by the radio shack and buy a 3.7v bulb AND I WILL INSTALL IT FREE but no guarantees....ask clee. i was afraid to do his cause the piece cost like 50 beans to replace so be careful when u do it.
There is a small piece connected to the transformer. Then the rest of it is threaded through and twisted around the rubber. Find the end and start twisting and pulling it out from there. I used my fingernails.
And when you put the new one in, you can't put the leads back into the original holes, you have to put them into the side posts.

How did you get the leads on the Red LED out? did you use needle nosed pliers? They look to be looped around posts or something.
