Just got my A'PEXi WS cat-back installed today, and it's really nice. Not too loud, but loud enough (nice deep growl), nice looking tip that's not TOO big. and I can feel a little bit in the seat of my pants on the mid to high end. All around very impressive. I highly recommend it.

Thanks! I had the guy at my shop cut a hole for it, and he welded a "nut" into the pipe as kind of a new bung and screwed the O2 sensor back in, I've driven around for about 2 hours now with no C/E light coming on, so I think I'm good. It did cost 80 bucks to get installed which I am kinda bummed about cuz up until now, I've done all my mods myself. Oh well the WS is awesome!

Is a hole required to be cut in all model yrs of the Apexi WS? I had planned on putting mine in myself too, but if a hole needs to be cut for the O2 sensor, then I may have to pay soemone

Where you guys get the Apexi WS cat-back exhaust? And for how much? I'm in the market for one too.

If you want to keep your rear O2 sensor to avoid check engine light problems, you need to have a hole cut and a new "bung" (little screw hole that O2 sensor screws into) put in for it to function correctly. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend doing this job yourself if you car has over 20,000 miles as the bolts will be VERY badly rusted requiring a torch to get them off.....trust me, it's not fun. I've done all my mods myself up until this one.

As for where I got mine. I purchased it from Vitessi motorsports www.vitessi.com for $400.77 shipped. I was very impressed with the customer support at Vitessi, one of the reps even sent me a follow up letter in the mail (with european chocolate...yummy!) to make sure I was completely satisfied with my product. Vitessi has great prices on lots of stuff. I would highly recommend getting it from them.

the w.s is a bolt on for the 95-99 max. on the 97+ you can either tie off the o2 sensor or have it put in the b-pipe for about 15.00.
i had the group buy awhile back. 375.00 shipped.. hella cheap.

This is probably a really dumb question......but what exactly does an o2 sensor DO???? (besides sense oxygen ) I'm just curious....

If you tie off the O2 sensor, won't the check engine light come on?

Stupid question but it's the B-pipe that came with the exhaust right?

Yes. Its a catback with b-pipe and muffler. My '95 had the passenger tow hooks hitting the muffler.

I have yet to remove it.

I tied my o2 sensor out of the way and my "check engine" light came on after about 50 miles. I had a hole cut and installed the sensor back in place. A mechanic told me the sensor is used by the ECU to read oxygen in the exhaust and adjust fuel/air accordingly. This is debatable by some of the guys if it really does or not.

Why would the max even have O2 sensors if they don't have a purpose....

Here was what the guy who installed mine and tied it off told me:

the front O2 sensor is the one responsible for the fuel mixture etc.. the second one (which is not even present one some years of 4th gens) is only for emissions and possibly to let you know if you cat goes bad.
