Engine Kit

Has anyone installed this engine kit?

Would the engine be able to handle more boost with this? Or is it just a waste of money? Is it better than the Aluminum alloy that exists stock?

why'd you make this into a poll?

I don't know what freeze plugs are, but everything else is necessary to build up your engine so yeah it seems like it will help in boost applications. Don't know why rod bearings are listed but no connecting rods?

Freeze plugs are plugs that are in the block. They are designed to pop out in freezing temperatures. The purpose is for them to pop out before the block freezes and cracks which only happens when the only coolant being used is water. A 50/50 blend of antifreeze and water eliminates freezing.

All those components should help handle more HP but not sure if its needed.
Many have shown that the VQ can handle quite a bit of HP already.

ahh, ok. Thanks for the explanation.

yeah the vq30 can handle a lot of added stress but apparently 350whp is some magical limit (due most likely because beyond which a z32 maf and something more than 370cc injectors are needed) that a stock vq30 can handle.

Anyhoo, to get beyond the mardigras/turbo97/hlh crowd a rebuilt engine couldn't hurt! Still wondering why rods aren't listed as part of the package.

I was thinking the same thing about the rods. Plus it doesnt seem all that expensive. Ive seen kits for other cars and they are much more then that.
