That Sucks!
If your door didnt open the alarm wont go off. They could have towed it.

it takes about 2 seconds to disarm the maxima alarm once you have the car open

as for starting it another 2 seconds to hotwire a maxima with nothing but a set of wire cutters

They stole my car too.. factory alarm too.. didnt go off too... POS? Yes very true...

Hope your car didnt have any expensive goodies, sorry for your loss.. Hope you get it back and fix it up with a aftermarket alarm this time! Maybe a few kill switches here and there.. etc.

factory alarms are jokes, viper or code alarm is superb, but then again, my friend had a factory and a viper in his car with gps tracking, comes out of his hotel room in atlanta and finds the viper brain and gps bug laying where his car was parked the nite before. if they want it, theyll get it.

99% of the alarm are paybass, I know this person who had great alarm(perfectly hidden),+4 kill swith+1 kill swith to the ECU, and it was stollen in less than 10min,

most alarm work fine, but easy to cut and steel the car. Get good insurance that cover the theft. plus if you need add GPS tracking divice(expenseive + $10 a month to keep it active, heard good thing about it, and they do a some kind of 24 hr finding the car after you told them about the theft, or the give the some kind 10,000, not sure about the last one.

I my self had $3500 worth of stero and it was stolen in mid Augest 04,
lucky I was covered on it and had covered on the steroe.

what r u guys talking about, how could u even call it an ALARM. its just a keyless entry. there is no "alarm", no shock sensors, no glass sensors. only if u open door or hood. aint worth a crap.

Sorry to hear about your car. That kind of stuff totally sucks. My buddy's bike, a Yamaha R1 (he had put over $2k worth of stuff on it too)was stolen from work yesterday, in the parking lot, supposedly watched over by security guards.

You should have read the forums bro, everyone with a stock alarm is getting hit easy.. Hell people with aftermarket are getting hit. I got a Viper 791 XV or whatever and I dont feel 100% safe.

I have a Clifford alarm, but if I feel a little weird about where I have to park I do pull the fuel pump fuse .

I did this when I went to get rebo my max, this person stopped making payment on the car so went and got it back, he instaled a Clifford Alarm so I could not start the car even I had the key.

True, i did that once when i parked my car in New York. I put a blown fuse in the fuel pump so if they went to start it, it wouldn't start and it looked like it has the fuse in the slot. Just thinking 1 step ahead of the game.

Actually my Clifford alarm has the option to add wireless immobilizer that is hidden somewhere in the vehicle. If the alarm is tripped, the fuel supply (I believe it is the fuel pump) is interrupted and will not get to the engine unless it is reactivated by the remote.

I asked my shop to install it for me, when I got my Clifford a few years ago. They refused because they said it would give me a lot of problems in NY. Apparently, the signal that it uses can be affected by antenna towers, especially in Midtown Manhattan. Installer said he had a few customer cars that sometimes didn't start for that reason. Clifford was supposed to be redoing it to make the signal stronger etc.

That sucks. Well I will check back with the shop that installed my alarm to see if they have the upgraded version. Here in San Diego that may not be a problem though (as in Manhattan), but still I would not want a component that is not working properly. So if it is not ready, I will wait, or do something else.

Anybody know the cheapest place to buy a bunch of 15 amp fuses? Whenever I park in a n unsafe place, I pull the fuel-pump fuse and I worry that I'm going to break it with all the use.
