spring and strut recommendations

A while back there was a post with opinions about the various replacement springs and struts available. Can anyone point me to this or any other helpfull post. My 97 SE could use a freshening.

Thanks
Ron

Try this LINK.

From what I've read on the ORG. AGXs and Illuminas are preferred with Illuminas being more comfortable. As far as springs go it's about personal preference. Sprints for the lowest drop, Eibachs for the best handling, H&R/Tokico for comfort and so on.

Definitely read that maxmods link.

I also had this thread written by phenyriv bookmarked, but I'm getting an error when I try to access it. https://maxima.org/forums/3rd-generation-maxima-1989-1994/300625-short-shifter.html. Maybe somebody can get it to work...it was good reading too.

theres only a few reviews in there, so i would suggest just looking at all of them. I added my Maxspeed / KYB GR2 review though.

Thanks for all the responses. My budget for this is limited, so I think I'll go with the KYB GR2's and a Front Strut Tower Brace. The car has 50,000 miles and the springs seem OK. There seems to be alot of warnings about after market springs with oem shocks/struts but not about aftermarket shocks/struts with oem springs. Does anyone forsee any problems with this setup? Thanks again.

Ron

Thanks jdm71488. One more question. Can I go with one of the inexpensive Front Strut Tower Braces from Otto Racing or the Matrix from street-beat.com, or is it worth the extra money for a more expensive one from Stillen, etc... I'm concerned about fit and duribility.

Thanks
Ron

all fstb's are the same in all categories except cost and style... if you want to pay for the looks then by all means do so, but they all act the same... i will be getting one off ebay soon

You can get them even cheaper on ebay. I think I paid like $25.

I was talking about the FSTB there
