My car whines, why?
Ok for the past 6 months or so my car has started making a whine that changes pitch with accelleration. I have determined that it is one of the peices driven by the belt, but which one? I know it is not the AC compressor, so that leaves me with the alternator, or the power steering pump.
Now my sterring is fine and the noise doesn't seem to change when I turn my wheels, but my power system seems like it is doing fine, and I have none of the warning lights. so what do you guys think? I am going to try and find someone around here with a stethscope that you use on cars to find noises, but that is hard to find here. So what do you all think?

Check the idler pulley on the altenator/ac belt. That has been whats making noise on my car, I even replaced the altenator thinking it was that. Just got the idler at the dealer today, costs 72 bucks and should stop that annoying sound!
