That is another level of rice that we don't need to get into.

monitrs are a funny subject i dont speak for everyone but when i put one in my car its was dope for like 3 months now i rarely turn it on. Funny thing i turned it on last night to make sure it still works!! But if you want to break necks and attract alot of positive as WELL as negative attention do your thing..

I think super large monitors are like 20" chrome rims on an Accord -- not exactly rice, but more like trying to pretend you have wealth when in reality you have large amounts of credit card debt and flashy items in your middle-class car.

rice n.
1.A cereal grass (Oryza sativa) that is cultivated extensively in warm climates for its edible grain.
2.The starchy grain of this plant, used as a staple food throughout the world.

tr.v. riced, ric·ing, ric·es
To sieve (food) to the consistency of rice.

Exactly! Why is the board so osessed with anti-rice topics? I do think they look pretty cool, but a little too flashy for my taste. Most of the time big tv's are only installed to attract attention, so if that's what you want then get 1, if not, stop flaming other people just because they have different tastes.

Each to their own. I get flamed for having an maxima on my trunk everyone wants me to shave it, I just simply say "Its my car and I do what I please"

I think having a TV in the car isnt rice at all... well at least if you have navigation. The TV's your talking about isnt rice either its just plain dumb. After you spend all that money to install it and make it look good, youll soon find out that some people look for cars like this and youll find it stripped somewhere if your lucky.
But hey to each his own. Its your car and if you want to do something to it then do it. Im not bashing you just letting you know, which im shure you already do, that it may and lost likely get stolen when you least expect it.

i can't wait until this one gets locked down... until then i'll throw my 2 pennies in...

yes, rice is a food, but it has also been adopted as a commonly used adjective in the import world, for example, "look at that ford focus with the type r sticker!! what a rice-bomb!"

rice is a term used to describe a modification to a car that advertises a horsepower gain and yields none, or for a modification that is totally pointless. for example, if i were to slap a turbo sticker on my car and not actually have a turbo, that would be one form of rice. or, if i were to bolt on a 4" exhaust tip that does absolutely nothing for the performance of my car, that would also be rice. if you put a big *** tv in your car, that is not rice. it's bling.

holy **** i wrote a novel. my bad..

i don't think having a tv is rice, as long as ur not playing ps2 or watching it while ur driving at the same time. its also a nice thing to have until someone breaks into your car, especially here in nyc. its prolly good to have if you want to show off or ur just too boring of a person to keep ppl in your car entertained, then again, i say let ppl do what they want with their car.

Ok, having a 15-20 inch TV in the car is just plain stupid. Having an in-dash, visor, or headrest TVs is fine. When you put in stuff bigger than what most college students have in their dorms, it's just not right.

No! It's not rice or stupid at all, instead I was sooo proud to have that F#$king ugly 20" lolor Magnavox sat on my rear seat, which was powered by a DC-AC invertor in my Max during the power-outage here in central, FL. I arrived to work the day after "Charley". Of course, there was no electricity at work, and my Max became a center of attention or the latest News. BTW, I'm replying this post while tons of rainfall with 65 MPH wind out side the window, but it could be much worser once the eye gets closer to our area @ around 1-2pm today. Guess what? The Magnavox is currently waiting for its job in the back seat. I'm praying for all of you who live in the path of miss Frances.

If I won the lottery I'd get a custom dash with like a 10 - 13" flush mounted in the dash. But as far as the 17" flip down. That's friggin ghey. There's this guy on cardomain who has 7 tv's in his car and he thinks it's the sh|t. I told him they looked like sh|t which it did.

For now, 6.5" is enough for me.

Instead of getting a 20" TV get one of those really cool fold out TV's that are touch screen. They are WAY cooler!
come on man Touch screen *does homer drool laugh thingy*
I eat rice with my chinese food. And the term "riceburner" is only a Honda/Acura thing

Instead of spending money on something that draw's attention, spend money on something that leaves attention standing in the dust, coughing from the ginormous cloud of dust that u made as you WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHED by! =D

Why would TVs make your car rice? I don't think a 20" would look good in your car because who the hell is gonna watch a 20" TV a foot in front of them. I see nothing wrong with putting small TVs in the headrests and dash however... some people do it just to have something flashy in there, and some people automatically think that just by having TVs your trying to show off or something, but if i put TVs in my car, id have em to have a sick *** surround system in there, I already have my system set up nicely.

you would not make this thread unless you were thinking about doing it

i do not htink it is rice it if looks clean...but if you mount it up on your dash then hell yea. Screens arenot rice at all...apc does not sell them.......as said above do want you want, and do not ask the opinions of other cause most of the people on this board will most likely say no

Because we drive Maximas.....not Hondas!
We are all against rice stuff because the Maxima is too classy of a car to put all that junk on the car.

I don't think the 20" screen would look right.
But I don't really like putting those into a car unless they are in a van or SUV and can be used on long trips. I think it is dangerous and asking for a ticket.

so then that means, everybody with a lip kit (stillen, ionic, CM) has a "riced" out car, seeing as how it only adds weight and doesn't make it faster. hmmm...

20 in is just way to big for any car. thats to big for an suv IMO. most id go for an suv is 13 in roof mount. that is a nice size. for a car the most id do is an 8 in or 9 in. ive seen a 9 in in a jetta and its a good size. im personally a fan of tv's, its just something fun to add to your car, wsp when u install it yourself. i have a 7 inch fold out lcd, i dont think its rice. i plan on getting a roof mount after i finish all my other interior stuff. not a 20 inch but maybe an 8 or 9.

as far as tv's being called rice, i guess its a proper term to use. IMO its a term thats used to describe something installed on a car that has no reason for being installed that may or may not affect safety, ride quality, and performance.

neon lights
stickers
vinyl
huge rims
glow in the dark muffler tips
washer nozzle lights
color tint

now majority of these mods are installed for the purpose of looking good. but when combined they just make the car look ugly IMO.

agin these are just my oppinions.
