I mean, he is becoming the Sultan for problem solving and troubleshooting inquiries on this board. I think it's wonderful that someone like him, who is a self-educated "do it yourselfer" nissan enthusiast, is willing to help out others where he can. I've noticed recently that you are becoming the first line of defence when a problem arises and you always respond promptly. I applaud you!

cheers,

G

I was thinking about this earlier today

I think that it is a great idea. Daniel B. has helped me out a ton already, but I would hate to put any added strain on him. Unless he is willing. I've called upon his services before, and I'll probably call upon them again. Might make things easier. Just my .02

I like this idea. It would probably make it easier on him to find his posts as well, but then again, he may feel obligated to answer every one of them.

I could not agree with you more

I think that Maxima.org should have a Daniel B. forum on it along with the 5th 4th and all the others

Vote of confidence

Thank you all for your vote of confidence. I'm glad to share information. It's part of the automotive hobby.

It's not appropriate for any person to have an individual Maxima.org forum. This is an information exchange which ought not be personalized. It's not about you, it's not about me, it's about the 4Gen Maxima. I prefer to continue as a participant in this forum.

I couldn't agree with you more! The title wasn't meant for you to ACTUALLY have your own forum...more of an appreciation for the work that you do here for others.

cheers,

He could have his own forum but he shouldn't kick people when they are down.

Bro, you shouldn't just go around making cheap shots. If you disagree enough with someone's views or actions to drag them through the mud, you should at least give everyone else some indication WHY.

Here's the thread deezo's sentiments seem to stem from:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=33080

deezo, please let me know if i'm wrong.

Re: Re: Re: I just wanna say...

Jeff, think I gave you the wrong link. Maxwell supplied the right one. Maxwell, ome on, the cheap shot is not from me. The guy had an accident and asked a question about his car. I don't think we should dog him for the accident and I don't think we should cause him more stess by dissin him. All that is not called for. Daniel already cleared himself with me and others in the forum(not that he had too) with what he meant.

Fair enough. I don't think any of us meant to get on his case for the accident, because we all know he got all the torture he needed when he stepped out of the car and looked at the front end. I just wanted fairness, and what you said about Daniel seemed to me like a cheap shot because your comment was in a completely different thread and made no reference to why you were ticked off. Now I understand where everyone is coming from, so I'm sorry for breaking *****.

By no means am I trying to dog Daniel don't get me wrong and I think there was someone else in the forum that was more upset at that comment than I was, not that I was upset. We all have bad times and I would think that we should be able to go somewhere we can feel at ease.
If you look at the forum again the author admits he was wrong and did take my advice to see a bodyshop I used. I think that made him better about his car.

if he got paid .25 for every time he was called for help, he could be rich.

Folks, IMHO Daniel B. Martin is a resource that no amount of money can buy. He is available 7 days a week, seemingly 24 hours a day, is more than willing to take the time to write countless emails, and he does all of this, why, cause he likes to help others. He is truly amazing. I enjoy his thouroughness, insightfulness and his technical expertise. How many people you know would do a chapter by chapter comparsion of the three major shop manuals? And why, so we would have that information available.

Daniel B. Martin my hat is off to you.

All I can say is Thank You and please keep up the good work, you have saved me on several occassions.

Daniel B. i'd say you are wise to bow out gracefully Although I selfishly wish you did have your own forum. Realistically, if you did, though, it would become almost a full time job for you answering everyone's posts. Posts would greatly increase due to the new forum and you would be overwhelmed and not see a single greenback for it.
Actually, I wish you lived in my garage so everytime I worked on the Max I could have firsthand professional advise, but that would probably cost me too much!
You're great! Three cheers for Daniel B. Martin!
BTW What line of work are you in anyway?

Daniel's own forum

I would suggest that a seperate discussion category be created to allow discussion of the types of problems Daniel seems to be so good at solving. It wouldn't have to be limited to Daniel only, but feature Daniel and others with technical knowledge. Even better would be a catalog of such responses, maybe as an extension of the FAQ functionality. Most everthing he answers will be asked again at some point.

Thank You

Thank you sir, you have been a great help to me directly. Whenever I had questions, and also just by reading up on other people's problems and your replys. You are a great resource on this list, and like many others I too wish you were my personal mechanic, and would be more than willing to pay for your great services.

Thank you again, for being there for us when we were lost or confused and did not know where or whom to turn to.

I hope one day at some meet to personally thank you.

i say give him his own forum. It would clear up alot of clutter especially on the "General Max" forum and in the "4th generation" forums.

Thanks so much Dan for all the help you have given me and for all the great advice on pretty much every motor related issue that has come up here on the ORg.

Hmmm...I wonder what topics would be left to talk about in the 4th Gen forum if Daniels Forum is created?
