I rode in a Cefiro today
Yep, rode in a Cefiro as a passenger
My trainer for work has one, and today we had to go to the other side of the city to another office. Rather then each of us taking seperate cars he suggested we take his.
I always thought they were fairly identical (from brief glimpses at car parks), but his has a few nice features that I wish my Maxima had. One of them was the park brake. On his Cefiro rather then having the usual pull up hand brake near the gear shifter, his was a lever positioned next to the steering wheel (would be under the Security light in US Maximas, in the same position that I have a change holder on my Maxima).
Next thing was the cup holders. Looked exactly like mine except they had spring loaded walls at the bottom that adjust to fit your drink, so if it's smaller then the cup holder, the wall closes in on the drink to stop it from falling over. On the other hand, if your drink is the same size as the cup holder, the wall will squash into the main wall to fit the drink.
One thing I wouldn't change though was the engine His only had the VQ25DE (common for Cefiros), whereas all Maxima naturally have the VQ30DE. You could notice it when he accelerated from the lights, it didn't seem to have the same pickup as my car, nor did it have the nice roar that the VQ30 has
Apart from that, I saw the difference between a car that has done only 90,000km and a simillar speced car that has done 275,000km Lets just say alot of the fittings in my car have become loose with age

Cefiro's are less powerful then the Maxima because of taxes and what not put in place in Japan that deter people from having cars with large engines. This is the case for imports from Japan anyway (where nearly all imports in NZ come from)
As for fitment, it looked like the whole cup holder size was the same as in my Maxima, so I would think they would be interchangable. They should hold 20oz bottles, the cups looked to be the same size as in mine which hold 600ml (20oz) Coke bottles perfectly but it depends on how large the base is on your 20oz bottles I'm not sure how easy it would be to just get the cup holders, I wouldn't think most parts warehouses here would be too keen on selling the cup holders seperate from the console as then they would be left with an incomplete console. I could probably get them new from my Nissan dealer, but they'd probably charge the same amount that the parts places charge for a whole console lol.

You might be thinking of the A31 Cefiros, as far as I know no A32's came turboed.
Sorry, don't have any pics. Didn't have my camera with me at the time, and I'd look a bit of a **** snapping pictures in his car lol. I'll see if I can find some on some online car sales sites.

omg Cefiros are mostly 2.0's and are garbage compared to american Maximas, I drove a couple here in China, ahahhahahahahahahahahhaah (boasting boasting and done) well anyways all of there e-brakes are where ours are, but the cool thing about them is that they have more useless gadgets. Rare to find a stick one here too even though almost every car here is stick, OMG i hate this place, I want my car !!!

Guess it must vary in each country, most Cefiros here (and I suppose Japan too since thats where we get them from) are 2.5s with a few having a 2L or a 3L. The 2L also comes in a stick variety whereas the 2.5 and 3L only come in auto, but again that may differ from country to country
