if this was directed at me, it doesn't eliminate the fact that aftermarket will never = oem fitment. gaps will always be different. and not all cars have marginal bolt holes so wherever your brackets are positioned is where the hoods going to be sitting whether you like it or not. (the 240 for example had no room to play with it).

flava ^ those points are well made. i've never owned a hood with tab holes in them for that. i have seen the weather stripping on some hoods. but i also remembered another contributing factor to the hood's clearcoat loosing life so fast, the lack of a heatshield in most cf hoods (if not all?)

You must have had some pretty weak struts, because with fairly new ones it makes it really hard to close the hood with them. I have seen it work with weak, and leaking hood struts though. Struts that would not hold up an OEM hood held up CF hoods no problem.
That's odd because my struts are used now but I got them brand new a few months ago and they're still easily holding up my OEM hood without any struggle. I wish I could've gotten that CF hood aligned. I have a feeling my car was in a front end accident before I got it because I had to make modifications to install my R34's.

when aligning the hood you can also use the hinges if there isnt any adjustment room on the hood itself. OR you could adjust the fenders. theres no reason to not atleast have EVEN gaps.

5.5 gen is a 2002 or 2003 with the 3.5 engine, 20th anniversary is the 2001 model with the ol' trusty 3.0 engine.

You bumped an old thread, then asked a question that isn't even related to the thread topic. Not good my friend.

This is the last time this poor thread gets dug up...
