Antenna Ideas Please

the motor on my antenna is burnt out or sumthing. you hear the motor but the antenna mast stays half way up, doesnt go up or down and wont budge. well have any of you guys replaced the antenna to one from another car? i was thinking maybe the s2000 or somthing similar. what you guys think?

hmmm, my antenna is okay so far (knocks on wood). It would be interesting to see if the antennae from let's say a Honda s2000 or Nissan 350z could fit onto our car. You can get a cheap replacement power antenna on ebay for like $40 I believe. There's also a guide on how to replace it in the "sticky's".

That'll show you how to replace your antenna, it's not that hard... Hearing your antenna situation, it should just be the antenna mast that you need to replace, not the whole motor, which costs quite a bit more.

I've got one of those exact antennas ordered directly from that site in brand new condition (never installed, I had to get a new motor because the old mast was rusted in or something), I'll sell it to you for $18 shipped instead of the $28 on the site.

Send me an email if you're interested!

I had the same exact problem. If you hear the motor, you are fine. Go on eBay and just buy an antenna mast for like 18 bucks. Install it correctly and your good.

there is an attena in the rear window. so when you switch from cd to radio you have recption from the rear window attena until the attena goes up.

if you hear your motor, your fine, just need to reinstall a mast, the teeth have problaby worn down in certain spots.

it doenst work for AM radio though, so you need the antenna up for AM radio, works just fine for FM though. you can get a replacement mast on ebay for cheap, itll require two people to install, as you have to have to face the vinyl teeth towards the rear of the car, while the other person presses the power button.

gah i hate our ugly ase antenna. so i just said forget it for mine and i unplugged the antenna to the motor so it doesnt go up but i still get fairly good reception. i live like an hour away from a big city so all the good fm stations come in fine. but what i wish i could do is just shave that piece off completely and put an autoloc hidden antenna in. that would be soo smooth.

I got an stock antenna motor from eBay, but I got lucky... If you're in no rush, just keep your eye out for a 4th gen antenna motor on eBay. Otherwise, I didn't have any luck finding an stock one elsewhere.
