bought this trans fix

Hey guys I just bought this transmission fix liquid for 9$ (lucas company). It says it stops slipping, cleans out worn valves. But it doesnt say if its for AT or Manual... I have AT... it just says for all transmissions/fluids. The instructions say that u must add it to existing fluid and thats it... I was looking for something like seafoam, which u add before fluid change... is there anything that pep boys would sell something like seafoam? i got 99 max... what kind must i add to be mutual to my AT?

also i bought a case of proline atf dextron 3 mercon for 17 $ (12 bottles)... is this ok fluid? i m going to change it after 6k anyways... the reason i m looking for draining is because my AT is acting up (hesitates) and rpm is weird (doesnt move much when 4th gear)

i wouldnt add any additives to the fluid, switch toa synthetic blend or osmething. seafoam has a transmission additive, its called translube or osmething. use that fluid to flush out the tranny.

4TH gear with a TC lock up will hold the RPM's in place.

Hance - they don't move much....

Are you sure you have tranny problems or are you experiancing the usual Nissan Autotragic transmission feeling?

Don't put additives in your tranny, they only mask problems (if you have any)

well i already put some flush fluid in there, to clear out the gunk, it says drive for 5 mins and flush... i drove for like 1 minute and parked the car waiting to open the dam pan gasket... dont have the tools right now (my cousin is away )... should i just open the pan gasket and let all the fluid out and then put the gaste back on or should i drain all 10 quorts now that i put the flush fluid in it?

i also noticed that when i put the flush thing in, i was driving for 1 min and around 10 mph, the wheels spun off the ground or something... weird... so i just put it in garage and waiting to open the gasket

Did you use regular ATF? Or ATF +3. Does anyone know what our cars call for?

I think if you use ATF in a ATF +3 transmission, you're asking for it to fail. At least from what I've heard

i returned the lucas thing and got a flush fluid instead and some stop leak thing by same company... anyone know if i will be good only to drain the pan, take it off, clean it, change the filter, and without dropping any coolant return lines? I wanted to put 5 quorts and then shift to all gears and then drain the pan once more to get rid of that flush fluid crap out of the tranny. anyway whats the purpose of the tranny coolant return hose anyone know?

you dont really need a flush fluid for a tranny, tranny fluid is already a detergent, use some cheap fluid and run it through your system, then flush and use good fluid. thers a how to on how to drain it through the hose in the front of the car.
