Seems like a fuse proble, but you said you already checked them.

Did you check all the hazard fuses/relays? Under the hood, and in the fuse panel inside the car?

do you have the factory alarm - and if yes, do the blinkers blink (together) when you lock the doors/arm the alarm... if yes, I think nismos14 had the same problem - see if he found a fix... I don't know what the problem is, but I call tell you its not the flasher relay (since replacing that didn't fix it for the other org member)... it might be a bad hazard light switch.

I would check the relays involved if there are no blown fuses. Can't be certain, though....

There are two separate flashers... there is one flasher for the turn signals and one flasher for the hazards. They are identical flashers (interchangeable) but nonetheless, they are two separate flashers. I suspect one died while the other is OK. Simply replace the flasher and that should do it.

I don't think this is true - i.e. there is only one flasher relay. If you really do think there are two relays - where is the 2nd one located? Neither the FSM or the Haynes manual mention a 2nd relay.

To the OP:
The FSM lists the following possible causes for your symptoms:

1. Blown 10A fuse in fuse block (Fuse #11)
2. Hazard switch faulty
3. Open in hazard switch circuit

You weren't fidding behind the center console before this happened were you?

Every car I've ever worked on has always had two relays. I wouldn't think the Maxima was any different but since neither FSM nor Hayens mention it, I will have to go check out my car. Thanks for the info.

His problem is a fuse. I had the same thing happen. I replaced one fuse and the hazards worked but when trying to make a turn the blinkers didn't. Check the tail lamp fuse, check all of them.
