I think it'll look fine since no one will notice if it's carbon fiber or not while he's driving. Body color would be best but leaving it black will = carbon fiber look.

I would have to compare him to a civic owner that has installed a multi colored bodykit that is unpainted. You know those biotchs that have a aqua rear bumper, primer front bumper and dirty aqua side skirts. IMO having something unpainted on your car looks plain unfinished and tacky.

Y don't you beat him with a stick until he understands that it wouldn't look good.

As long as the color scheme of the car matches i.e. Carbon fiber lip kit with CF hood and gun metal or dark rims. I plan on doing something along those lines, can't knock it til you actually see it on the car...
If he just plan on just a black lip then it wouldnt look good.

A black lip on a silver car would not look too bad IMO. Although Black is about the only color that would work. It brings more attention to it. Other appearance mods will also make or break the contrast. If every body panel was a different color then it would only add to the confusion and ugliness. If done correctly a black/carbon fiber lip or spoiler on a non-black car can look good. I would still get it painted, but I think it can look good. Just not something I would do to my car, but can see how others would possibly want to.

He is just jelious he doesn't have a black car to begin with.

If I had a body kit on my car I would concider leaving the lip unpainted. With my 2.5-2.7in. drop, a painted lip would scape constantly.
