Best Struts.....Stock Springs..

Just want "Smoother" ride and better handling....Any Group Deals still open?
Best Ebay prices ....KYB GR-2 ::$216.00 shipped...Tokico HP::$275.00 shipped
and SpringTech..? ::$203.00 shipped....any feedback??????? I was leaning towards the GR-2's rather than spending the extra $150.00 for agx's....

I'm running a GD on illumina's for $408 shipped, but if you're staying on stock springs that would probably be overkill.

Go with the GR-2's.

i would say just go with the blues, they are basically the ones that came on the car. if your keeping stock springs i see no reason to buy expensive struts such as illuminas, a new set of blues should do you nicely imo.

Because illuminas will last, blues wont.
Say a set of illuminas for $500 would last 2yrs or more.
blues for $275 that youll probably need to replace within the year.

Blues - $550 in 2 yrs
illuminas - $500 in 2 yrs plus theyre adjustable

illumina will probably out last the life of the car.

I'm on H&R's and Illumina's.. and i must admit the ride comfort is better then stock GLE.

Blues are basically stock...so they should last awhile on stock springs. I still vote GR2's unless you want to lower (or may want to in the future).

I've had my illuminas on Sprints for 3/4 year and the front left is broke. Front right is starting to go too. I have them on 5/5. Very disappointed, especially considering the price.

I wouldn't recommend Illuminas, but I'm not saying stay away from them. Maybe I drive harder than 90% of Illumina's customers. Maybe I got a bad set.

Yea, i suppose stock springs will work out well.
But what if he decided to lower the car afterward?

Youve had them set too high. Optimal setting shouldve been 3 front 3 rear.
You set the shocks for the spring rate not for the ride. But 3 years is pretty decent.

He meant .75 of a year (3/4...not 3 to 4).

How do you figure out what they should be set at for different springs? I'm gonna be putting them on with H-techs soon.

What type of driving is 3 for?
I don't think I was clear. I mean the fronts are set at 5, out of a possible 5.

I have sprint springs on stock struts and im debating buys the illuminas to go with them? How low will it make the car? And will it last? or should I get coilovers? or illuminas with a coilover sleeve?

What your not getting enough attention in your thread?

You're saying you have them on stock shocks? They will be the same height...just a better ride.
