Guys with HIDs and eyelids....

Do the eyelids/eyebrows help with the "blindingness" of the HIDs? I have a Hanabi 7000k kit and I aimed them down some, but I can still tell that there is stray light going all over the place that probably pisses people off. Anyways, do the eyelids help with this sort of thing? Let me know, thanks!

yeah, they definitely help... manualmaxima has them, and in person compared to mine, it makes a HUGE difference with glare.

he actually made them himself, he ordered the vinyl off ebay for like $20.00 for a huge sheet of it, and did it by hand, looks better than the pre-made ones you buy for like $80.00

Even if you have the eyelid, it still isnt going to eliminate all the glare because a lot of the glare comes from the bottom of the housing. if you truely want to eliminate most of the glare you would have to do a retrofit. i highly recomend doing that, you dont want to be pissing of any . Head on over to hidplanet.com you can learn alot there.

that seems like a good idea... what kind of shape did he make them? is there some kind of template that he used? can you buy this kind of vinyl from local stores?

Thats what is called a retrofit. prices varry depending on the type of projector you get. go to hidplanet and you will learn.

you can ask them for help but many people say there is no one way to do a retrofit, it is different for everyone so thereby there is no true writeup.

The eyelids won't do shiit for the glare of those 7000k HIDs. I use to have a 6000k McCullough kit tried the eyelid thing. Didn't work, just pissed more people off.

Just go with a retrofit to make everybody happy. It seems hard at first but once you begin to fimilarize yourself with the instructions, you will be able to understand the retrofit better.

I'm planning on getting a couple of A6 projectors with the whole assembly. Hopefully during christmas break, I'll have this project wrapped up and done.

ahh well the projector like i have and several other have is always a good route.. but if you like the full looking housing of the car.. you can always use a shield.. what you want to do i block light form going to the bottom of the housing.. so you make or buy.. i dont rmemeber where but i saw for sale.. anyway.. a shield.. under the hid bulb.. so the light is only going upward and not down ..

I'm pretty sure its possible, but can we do two projectors in one housing? Do a lowbeam, high beam setup like BMW?

That would look so tight. Angel eyes on those would be super tight.

I forget who put the projector in his housing with gutter mounts, but how does he aim his lights now? I'm guessing its touchy.

i highly doubt that there would be enogh space in our housings to do that, it wouldnt look right even if you could find small enogh projectors because it would look really cluttered. if you ask me it sounds like one big head ache.
