Alarm remote programming messed up

argh! i bought a new remote for my moms 97 maxima off eBay and it came with directions -

get inside the car, close the door
using lock/unlock button in the car lock the car
insert key into ignition, take out completely
repeat step 3 untill the turn signals on the dash blink
once the signals blink, turn the key to the on position (this is where i messed up)

her car has a replaced ignition from nissan since it was faulty, and i now have 2 sets of keys (door, and ignition) and i used the wrong key (door) to start the procedure... and i unlocked the doors using the switch in the arm rest to get out... fustrated, and went inside and realized i used the wrong key. now i cant get the turn signals to blink. my origional remote doesnt work now and when i put the car into ACC and hit the button, the lights on the dash flash. (oh also, the little switch on the door that triggers the alarm, and the interior lights is broken.... (its not my car and it got broken from a minor accident))

There are more detailed directions in the FAQ's. I bought some the other day too.

It'll work, just make sure you have the right key for the ignition this time and you'll be fine.

i think it wont work because its stuck in program mode (due to the drivers side door not being "open") because of that switch.

? You can't open the driver's side door ?

As long as you have...

1. Ignition key
2. Driver door power door lock and manual lock switches work
3. OEM Remote(s)
4. Driver door opens

There's no reason they won't work.

Swap it with the switch from the other front door. The rear door switches are different so you need the passenger side front door switch.

It's held in by 1 screw. Get a philips head screwdriver, take out the 1 screw and pull it out. Unplug it and replace with switch from passenger side.

Done.

Are you serious ?

You really don't need a picture. Just go take the screw out and pull out the switch. You will see a plug attached to it. Unplug it. Replace with passenger side switch. Program your remotes.

You could try a local junkyard or an org member that might be parting out his car.

Check the classified section of this forum to see if anyone is parting out a Max and see if he'll send them to you with anything else you might need.

I needed two of them about a month ago and an org member was parting out his car and I got the switches along with some other stuff real cheap.
