i have LSD, well the car was made for Canada. but i bought it in chicago from a guy that used to live in Canada, and now i have the car. not a real big thing. but when i take a sharp right turn, the right side wheel will spin faster. and burn out.

LSD = Limited Slip Differential.
on most cars, it comes with "open differentials." the way you can tell is, when you lift up the front of your car, and spin one wheel, the other wheel should spin the opposite direction. LSD equipped cars, when you spin one wheel, both wheels will turn the same direction. It does this because LSD has either, gears, viscous liquid, or clutch packs inside that lock up the differential when it feels that one wheel is getting a biased amount of torque.
A lot of SUV's or trucks come with an optional "locking" differentials, which helps them reduce the chance of getting stuck in mud holes or helps them get out of mud holes when stuck.
Have you ever been stuck in snow, and when trying to free yourself, only one tire spins... well, if you had LSD, you wouldn't have that issue.
1 way diff only locks up during accelaration
1.5 way diff locks up full on accel, and partial on deccel
2 way diffs lock up full during accel and deccel
a lot of guys who auto-X...drift... drag race have LSD's... it's night and day difference!
for daily driving though...it clunks clanks and makes really really loud noises when the LSD engages...

Diffs make a huge difference at the track, they'll make that launch alot easier and make the car launch evenly without having one tire lose traction. 60 foot times will be nicely lowered if your a good driver.

I know when driving my friend's Spec-V sentra (with mechanical LSD) I can floor it in first gear around a sharp turn and get no wheelspin. The car just pulls hard as hell around the curve.
