Speaker Replacement

Speaker Replacement
I posted this in the Audio forum but none of the 3 people that actually visit the forum responded. I figured this forum gets more visitors so I have a better chance here:
I am looking to replace all 4 speakers in my '95 Max. Non-Bose, stock HU. I don't need anything fancy, just stock replacement with as few fitment issues as possible. What is a good OEM replacement brand and where can I get it?
Thanks.

my girl has 4 pioneer and they have nice bass for the price... not sure what model, or price... but her mom had them put in, and she doesn't spend that much money...
i have alpine type s full range, and type s component set, and the clarity is wonderful... no bass though, when i turn the bass up, it sounds "hollow" or "weakish" if that makes sense, so i took the bass out of the speakers as much as i can and i will throw a amp and sub on soon...
also, dont buy from crutchfield... too overpriced... it makes me sick...

I have a Maxima GXE. I did an entire install: Aiwa HU and 4 Pioneer (4-way, 6 3/4 speakers). The install was pretty straight forward but what took up time was taking apart the dash board center console and the rear seat to get to the rear speakers...not all of it easy. You have to be careful and you have to take your time. Do this project on a weekend and do not rush it.
Take care with your door panels...do not rough it...once the door panels are loose, you can unscrew the speaker grills from inside the door panels...this will allow you easier access to the door speaker mounts. On the rear deck...you will have to take out the rear seat and unclip the side pillar covers as well as the rear deck...the third brake light mount is tricky.
The Pioneer 4-Ways are good for the price and they provide a full range of sound: low, mids and highs. I believe the model number is: TS-A1780R. Get the 6 3/4 inch size for all four mounts!! The 6 3/4 fit perfectly to the door and deck mounts...no cutting or install kits needed. I purchased everything from Best Buy.
Oh...I purchased the Aiwa unit MP3 playbackwith front auxilliary input jack because I wanted to be able to plug in an Ipod or equivalent...there you go, no more cds and all my music on an MP3 player / portable.
Also...you will need to purchase an antenna adapter for the Maxima...and speaker plugs / HU wiring harnesses from the Best Buy install folks. It is best to soder all your wiring but clips will do the trick. Again, take your time...do not do a shoddy job...do it well and it will sound great.
Take care and good luck.

If youre not planning on replacing the stock hu and not installing an outboard amplifier just get a cheap pair of pioneer coaxials. This is what I got for my old car. They sound really good for the price and the power and they are reliable. I still have a pair thats like 6 yrs old with sky blue woofers and they still work.
6 1/2" should fit fine in the front and rear
Currently I'm running CDT components in the front, off a hifionics amp and have no rear fill. I got some heavy stuff in my trunk for bass. I blew all four of the sock speakers within a week of being a maxima owner (no bose)

Apparently, the third brake light is removed by twisting and pulling up...I am unsure about the direction.
Good luck.
