whenever cold starting my Max. I hear a rattling noise from the passenger side of engine compartment. when engine is hot the sound goes away. I spoke to a friend who thinks its something with my timing chain.
Anyone experience similar issue or could shed some light? Any and all suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Most likely this is your timing chain tensioner. If the noise goes away after the engine warms up, most likely it is harmless, but annoying all the same.

A quick question. I have this problem. If it is a Technical Service Bulletin, Does the dealer repair this for free? or is that just in recalls. Also is it really harmless or should i get it fixed?

TSB just aids in the service of the problem. only recalls are free. if you bring in the TSB, the'll do it, and still charge you. your only helping the technition.

i never really heard or saw any1 blow a timing chain on a max, but if its making noise now i would spend the time in the garage and the pennies on the part an fix it.
