Ok the answer is nobody prolly has because it would be impossible to keep them clean even though it might look good are you willing to take you rims off once a week to clean all that up?? Go with metallic gold if you have the gold emblems and toss on a gold pinstripe, it looks hot as hell. I painted my rotors too and i get lots of good comments all the time!

You don't understand I guess... you hit the brakes once and they are going to be grey. Ask somebody with white rims how often they have to clean them (how many times a day)

Did you look for the paint they use to paint engine blocks or BBQ grills? Those items see higher temperature than patio furniture.

heheh

That is nice... I've been waiting to paint mine but haven't had the chance and weather has been really messed up lately with all the rain. My car is dark metallic blue, I was thinking light blue, but this color is nice! I am thinking, will I have to clean the calipers every other day off the brake dust like I do with my rims?

only with light colors... the best thing about metallic paint is that it hinds the dirt really well...

Metallic blue looks cool too. I think I read a old thread about this color bubbling up when it is really hot. Hows yours holding up?

heat resistant paint

If you go to Home Depot, you'll find they have a pretty large array of spray paints. There's a section devoted to high heat tolerant paint. They have black, aluminum, beige and white, as well as a few others. This would definitely work well on brake calipers.

There's also a "hammered metal" effect paint that looks pretty cool, but I'd put that on something like the valve cover trim.

Engine Enamel

Go to a larger Auto Parts store and look for Dupli-Coat Engine Enamel. they have almost every color and it's 500 degree paint and it's very good. I used it for everything on my car. Calipers, rotors, Nissan plug cover, FSTB ends, Springs, and a few other odds and ends.

was your rustolium(metallic blue) spray paint? I went to home depot, and they had two kinds: can of paint, and spray paint. Which one did you use?

rustoeloum (sp?) won't last at 600+ degrees heat when the brakes get hot.
imho. get high temp primer, then repaint with high temp blue. they have that. but wont look as nice. :P

what would happen if the paint can't hold up high heat? Will it melt? bubble up? Eventually make a mess on the brakes?
