stupid strutbar question. nevertheless. here goes

Got an ebay bar. [lookin for a nismo stick for +10hp hehe] anyway There are nuts and bolts holding the bar part to the brackets. Shoudl I tighten those all the way, or leave some play, ie. what if I tear it up taking a turn too hard? Or is it the tighter the better. Just a simple question, don't wanna mess something up like this.

tighten them all the way, other wise they will work there way loose, and eventually fall off, and then your FSTB could pop off....check haynes to see how far to torque those down

Dude, are you talking about the tensioner nuts on both ends of the bar itself or the 3 nuts that attach the bar to each side of the struts tops?

i think he is talking about the bolts at the ends on his strut bar.. where it attaches to the brackets and lets you adjust how wide the bar fits...

Is it too late to return the bar and spare everyone else that happens to be operating a car in your general area?

I left the bolts loose, just in case. I whipped a turn really hard and bent the crap out of the bar anyway.

LAST strutbar thread i promise. this time. [fitment on strut tower]

I have a 99 gle. I got an ebay fstb and having a bit of trouble fitting it. Wondering if you guys had the same problem. So I tried to put the bar into the strut tower bolts; one problem, there is a piece of metal welded onto the driver's side strut tower, with absolutely no function at all and it is getting in the way of the strut brace to sit flush with the body. I don't have a camera do I can't upload pics, but can you 99ers check for me? It's a piece of metal about an inch wide and long and it holds these two hose like bars near the temp sensor.

!!!! so pissed. I would gladly cut this piece of metal off but it's really thick and I spent all my money on getting a spoiler sockets and torque wrench. Anyone by chance in the central jersey area to help out?
