Car bucks back and forth in first gear

I have had a problem for quite some time now. It seems whenever I am on a flat surface and I'm in first gear, my car bucks back and forth. This only happens when I'm not touching the throttle or the clutch.
I just had my rear motor mount replaced and the front one isn't visibly damaged. I also have an ACT clutch and Fidanza flywheel. This problem is killing me, it is so annoying in traffic. If you can help me with some info please post.

It sounds like motor mounts to me. Is it only at real low speed?

Isn't that normal? Let's say you're in 1st gear at 2500rpm, you get of the accelerator and let the rpms drop to like 1500, the car will buck. It's the same as idling, putting your car is 1st and lettijng out the clutch without giving it gas, the car will buck and die.

i know my car does this. when i am going through a parking lot in 1st my car bucks back and forth alittle. if it is real bad, maybe it is your clutch and flywheel setting.

I've always experienced this in first gear, its worse at low rpms but not as bad at high rpms, I think this just maybe the way our cars are.

its strange cause I was driving my friend 300zxTT and first gear you can completely let off at almost any rpms and it does buck at all, smooth always, gone over speed bumps in first slow down to 2 mph start again, nothing just smooth.

I'snt this a function of engine compression and restricted aspiration? Free up breathing and exhaust and this should subside I believe.

Can any 5-spd owners with CAI and Y-pipe confirm?

if so this further justifies a new exhaust system

I have CAI and y-pipe and I've had this bucking in 1st and a little in 2nd both before AND after the mods. I found it weird since my max was my first manual car, and I asked my friend about it who had a manual MX3, and he said it was completely normal.

When I don't want to buck in parking lots, etc, I just give it a tiiiiiny bit of gas as I'm cruising and it doesn't buck. So far it's the only way I found to avoid it.

It was a bit better today. I have Intake and exhaust btw.
I believe my JWT ECU makes my idle a little higher. I'm taking it off for a little while, my car is acting really weird.

i think most 5 spds buck in first gear, if it bucks to much put the car in a higher gear.

Just hold the clutch in, thats how any manual transmission reacts if you are in gear with no clutch or throttle applied.

IT IS THE MOTOR MOUNTS. My car does the same thing. I have the ES mounts waiting for me to take the time to get them pressed in. Get the ES or fill your stock ones with Polyurethane and you will love how your does not rock when you take off or accelerate in lower gears.

^So I guess almost every single manual trans car out there has bad motor mounts.
It's normal, it's not the motor mounts.

It depends on how bad it bucks. Stock ones are not going to do it as bad as blown ones but Filled/ES/PR should reduce this effect a lot.

If you want to be technical then it also depends on the torque of the engine at that low of an rpm, suspension, motor mounts, TB size, just to name a few. FWD doesn't help either.

I'll bet my soul no matter what motor mounts you put on there if it is in gear no throttle no clutch it will buck.

thank you. I am going to fill the front and rear ones with polyurethane within a month or so.
The feeling I have described isn't normal. I have driven several other 5-speed maxima's and they aren't nearly as bad.

It is just how our 5spd acts in 1st gear at very low rpm's. This thread is gonna get people all worried and cause them to replace stuff that is not broken.
