Hi, I just got an 99 GLE and did not come with remote,so I bought one and followed the directions in the FAQ. lock all doors put key in 6 times within 10 sec then turn key to acc and push lock on remote,DID THAT but the hazard does not flash twice???it's like it wont put in program mode??am I doing something wrong??any help PLEASE!!!!!

 

Hi, okay, my Max did not come w/ remote either. So I bought one and the dircetions say, and I quote: Sit in drivers seat, close and lock all doors.Insert and remove key from ignition switch more than 6 times in 10 seconds. If successful, hazards will flash. Turn ignition on to acc position.Push any button on remote transmitter once. Hazards should flash if input was successful. Hope this helps if these directions were different than yours.

Try a couple of times and also check your remote battery too, it could be dead.

 

If you want help, you have to promize never to uze "z" in place of "s" ever again.
























There are multiple reazonz why thiz may not be working;
1) Youre inzerting the key too fazt/zlow
2) Your car may not have a factory alarm
3) Your remote battery may be dead
4) Your 'brain' for the alarm might need to be looked at.

 

Did all that plus checked batt. in remote,and called the dealer and they said mine did take remote due to the fact it was a 99+ a GLE what I am asking is I've been doing this all day and the hazard never blink?put key in slow/fast all diff. ways. I guess the brain in the alarm is bad ??any other suggestions???Thanks for the quick reply's...

 

I had the same issue with a 96 max, at a dealers lot. i tried to get it to work with my remote, but the hazards wouldnt flash after the 6 inserts. i never figured it out. the module "brain" for the factory alarm is in the trunk behind the right 'padding' next to where the jack/lift is. make sure its there, and everything is intact. do you guys think the addition/removal of an aftermarket alarm could be an issue? maybe the factory setup was disconnected/bypassed? dunno, this is all just speculation. good luck
