Bulbs Blow Out

I recently switched my gauges bulbs to all Polarg M4's aka 194's. Well, it's be I'd say about 2 months and within them 2 months my speedo section blew out 3 times. Once on the right side....then on the right side again and before I could fix it the left side went out. Then a night or so later before I could get new bulbs the Temp gauge went out...Now the Polargs are not cheap by any means at about $10-$12 a pack of only 2. So, I got new bulbs and tried to put them in the speedo and they still wont come on?!?! I'm clueless as of right now. I even tried to bend the metal prongs next to the bulb to get a better position for the metal's connection.

OMG lol, I thought this was going to be a thread about how inexpensive the bulbs are at a particular place.

you may have excessive oil on your hands for some reason? Try wiping the bulbs down in alcohol after you put them in, so there won't be any spots where you finger could've touched.. or wear gloves. That's the first thing I could think of. mannnn, i JUST ordered 194's last night. =T

Yeah, I guess I'm gonna try that because the original bulbs were even black from the usage over the 8 years and I know they weren't changed by the owner before me so I was like WTF why can't these bulbs last 8 months nevermind years lol. Luckily my whole dash is still apart so its not a BIG deal...but it's still a pain. Thanks man.

Did anybody else ever experience this...or with Polarg bulbs to be exact?

Test your ground as well. you may have broken loose a solder connection and are shorting the bulbs prematurely.
