Help....`95 won't start!

Flashers start flashing for no reason and then the car won't even try to crank over. Someone suggested a security condition. Even after getting the flashers to stop, it still isn't cranking over. Battery voltage is good.

A lot of 95-96 Maximas are bad for the ignition switch going bad. When it happens, it happens pretty much all-at-once & it makes you think it's something with the security (no starter noise/battery click at all). If you've felt just the slightest looseness in the ignition key recently, I'd bet that's what it is.

You know....after thinking about it for a while...I think that there's an aftermarket security system in it. I just bought the car a couple of weeks ago for my daughter. Everything was fine with it for the first week until I wired an amp to her head unit. I also remember an alarm/horn until the hood that the previous owner apparantley snipped the wiring on. All that to say, I suspect that the vehicle is in theft deterrant mode and there's probably something goofy behind the dash that is opening a relay that passes the ignition switch output to the solenoid switch.

My daughter's boyfriend said that he saw some cut and spliced wiring behind the radio cluster when I was wiring in a new head unit yesterday.

I meant when "he" was wiring the new head unit.

Ok..problem solved! There was a faulty aftermarket motion sensor that was killing ignition switch 12V from the solenoid switch. It also was causing the flashers to flash. After unwiring it, normal operation returned.
