Yes there was a nice flame war in there. Ignore it.
I was in a hurry and that was the best post about it I could find. I will be researching this more to have some proof that NGK is the way to go other than horror stories and nissan dealer techs coming up with BS.

I think the thing to do would be:
1. Get the electrical specifications (e.g. capacitance, normal conductance, etc.....) for Denso Iridiums, NGK Platinums, NGK Coppers, and Bosch Platinum +4s (to start)
2. Compare. If they're wildly different from each other, we'll have to see what the factory specs are for the ignition system.
If the electrical characteristics of those other plugs are the same as or very similar to the NGK Plats, then I think we can be sure that the whole NGK-Plat-only thing is BS. If they're not the same but still within the factory spec for the ignition system, again... BS.
And if they're out of spec, I'll be the one on the left --- >
