Anyone have experience with a nitrous oxide kit on their Maxima? What related upgrades and tuning did you do? Thanks.

I read the previously posted thread about NOS.. Question.. The thing about not helping at highway speeds.. Say I have a 50 shot of NOS.. And my car topped out at 130mph.. Then I hit the nitrous.. You mean I won't be able to get 140? I think the max has enough low end power as it is.. And I don't think I was to be hitting the nitrous in the streets anyways.. Rearend someone.. hehe.. I was considering it for those highway races against modded Integras and Celicas etc.. cars with more highend than my auto max. =)

It is not recomended....

That you use the NOS to try and go for topspeed. The MAX has so much low end, and with a 50"shot" on top. I only run a 40"shot" and Let me tell you what, I like the pull at low end. Thats why the MAX is a good stoplight to stoplight street racer. I would like to have the topend of like a Celica or even a VW, but I know that they dont have a chance to hang with a NOS injected MAX of the line(on the street). At 130mph a lot can happen real fast man. If you use the NOS wisely and respect it, it will treat you good...

Re: It is not recomended....

Okay, maybe my 130-140 example was kinda dumb.. I still have stock springs and struts.. I wouldn't really try it anyways.. =) Anyways.. Lets say I'm racing one of those celicas.. doing 80.. and he is pulling away.. the 50 shot won't help that much?

If you are up against your rev limiter off NOX, then I don't think hitting the button will not put you past it. NOX will help you hit the rev limiter faster. A new ECU would allow you to raise the rev limit, which, I guess, would let you exceed 140 mph. Luck.

Yes!! It will help but you can only use nitrous for 15 seconds at a time, so its not too practical at high speeds.

I figure if I hit the NOS at 85.. 15 sec later I should be up to at *least* 120.. What happens when you cut the NOS while at WOT doing 120?

Well...

You just loose the extra power provided by the N20, but continue to accelerate until your normal motor runs out of power.

I guess once I get the N2O on there my next investment will be for a two-stage Century Smartfit ~ 10-BHP! Thanks for the info...
