Either way, no matter how f'ing good your friend is, if the cat screws are too rusted, you MUST, absolutely MUST get them off at a shop, unless you got a freakin heat torch, which 99.9% of people do NOT.

Yea, when I had mine put in they also said it was illegal because they would be taking out the catilitic converter, which isn't true. I ended up getting mine done at Midas for $100. But just do it yourself, it's not that hard. I would've done mine myself but one of the bolts was stripped. So I recommend doing it yourself.

It is illegal. The federal law states that it is illegal to replace any properly funtioning catalitic converter. Our y-pipe has 2 pre catalitic converters.

Where do you live , I have muffler shop in Waukegan that will replace your rusty cat bolts for around $10 ( at least that is what they charged me 2 years ago)
