I replaced my bose tweeters with MBQuart components. Put the tweeters in the exact same spot. Painted the grille, and had to enlarge the hole a tad, but it works out great.

Im not sure what mtrai760 was actually meaning when he said the tweeter was "right infront of the mids." Ive seen brackets in door panels that hold the tweeter just to the side of the woofer and not actually on top of it.

components
when i installed my components i put them in the factory position. I have the bose system, so everything was there for me. I did not have to modify anything, because my MB Quartz fit in the original holes. That way I can put the system back to stock without any problems.
I also ran all new wires because of the factory amps, so i didn't have to by-pass anything. that also means when i go to put the bose back in i don't have any problems. didn't cut ANY factory wires, that is the way to go. just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I didn't want to cut up the doors either. I plan on taking all my stuff out when I someday sell the car, and I do not have a stock hole for the tweeter, so I would have to make one, which would later have to be covered up. I ran into that problem with my old Acura. The bracket is an L bracket, which is connected to the plastic speaker housing, and then bends down, to which the tweater is connected. Sounds good and works for me.
