sup everyone from the 4th gen world...i own a 91se 5-speed and did as much to it as i could before getting interest in the 4th gens...you can check it out on my homepage...i just looked at a 98 black max 5-speed with 48k on it today for a good price. my question is whether its an se or not...it does not say se on the truck (as a matter of fact it doesnt say anything) and it doesnt have the Bose speakers but it does have se rims and a spoiler is there a model max that im not familiar with? help would be great thanks...

 

Its most likely a SE, Either a SE Or GXE Since those only 2 models that have 5-spd unless person converted an gle.Imma go ahead and say its a SE

 

Check the stickes in the faq's there is a way to read the vin number to tell if its a GXE or and SE. That would be the best way.

 

Very few actually said "SE" anywhere on them. Are the gauges factory white face? If so it's an SE

 

you never know the person could have swapped on some white face guages. Sadly you never know what you going to get from a pre-owned and you gotta check everyting out and make sure everthing is legit.

I almost learned that the hard way.

Edit: Actually, what features does it come with? If it's got a lot of extras, it's an SE. Since GXEs are base models.

It should have factory fogs, spoiler, SE wheels & white faced gauges. If someone put all that on it to impersonate, damn them to hell. Check the vin to be sure!

 

most likely an SE if it has the rims and spoiler and white gauges i doubt anyone bothered to do a "conversion" but check ur VIN..... on courtesyparts.com u prolly got an SE dont worry

 

it has white face gauges and a moonroof no chrome door handles either...its cloth interior...but im just wondering about non bose, that sux, i looked in the trunk and they were like factory Panasonics, not even 6x9's i dont think (i really do not know if 4th gens have 6x9's but neither here nor there).
