Last Friday, I acctidently ran over about a foot and half high curb. I was going about 5 miles an hour when I hit.. I ended up popping my driver's side front tire and rolling over the curb with the back tire. I originally thought I only popped the front tire, that was cool.. But yesterday when I looked under my max I saw that the lip where the jack sits on was bent all the way... The beginning is still fine and the rear of the lip, but the middle is like bent up against the body of the car.
[front tire __________-------------__________ rear tire] thats the best drawing I can do to explain, but I'm wondering if this being bent really matters considering I can still jack the car up from the front and rear of the lip, just not the middle.. It also seem like I can bend it back straight, but am wondering what tool may work.. Thanks for listening to my weird question..

Yup, I have that. I sometimes have to choose a different jacking point...

Oh really, why did you like hit a curb or something in the road... Because mine is not visible on the exterior of the car only the under part where i would jack in the middle.. I'm just mad at myself for being careless..

can';t you take a hammer and just hit it back to place?

i'm gonna try a hammer, but i' need a tool to bend it that will give me enough room to bend it back into plack.. i will try it out today to try and straighten it out.. Thanks for the ideas..

I bent that pretty bad using a big floor jack to lift up my car one time, but i was able to hammer it back to almost normal. Also if you have a big enough pliers, that could probably work too.

Ditto here, tried to place a jack stand there and it started to bend it.

I bent mine too when jacking the car up. It was not too bad, I was able to take some vicegrips and slowy bend it back.

Best tool that is usually handy to bend back sheet metal is a crescent wrench(adjustable wrench), it is flat so it won't scar the paint or metal and it gives you a flat surface to accurately bend where you need to. I do it all the time at work. I have the same problem with my max,(bought it that way) don't know why i didn't think about bending it back until now

you can take a large vice grip and bend it back

The jack points do seem pretty flimsy. Are there any other recommended jack mounting points on 4th Gens beside what the owners manual suggests?

I just take the floor jack and slide it under the front crossmember and anywhere under the solid rear axle is fine.

My car is lowered so getting under the crossmember with a jack is kinda hard. Gotta take a running start.

If I had a flat and I couldnt use the jacking points, i'd jack under the rear solid axle or the black metal behind where the silver thing for the front control arm bolts to the subframe.
