95/96 ECU - major . im quite envious of FI options since i will be there shortly
i had always felt that the 96 had an overly large steering wheel, but i thought that was just 4th gens in general. is there anything that can be switched out in more or less just a bolt on for something better? something other than a momo or anything?

The 4th gen looks pretty dated today and 95/96 look especially bad when stock. To me, the rear end looks plain boxy on the 4th gen on all years. Styling was never the maxima's forte though imo..

95/96 look better that the 97/99 with the Stillen kit, particularly the front lip.

what annoys me is that you typed you're whole opening post in centered format, and i have to agree a 4th g is a 4th g is a 4th g, if you like one, why not like them all?

I'd have to say there is nothing sexier than a 95-96 with David L's and a drop, + stillen kit. It's beyond sexy. There's always options when it comes to grills too, i actually like the look of no emblem on the grill that the 95-96's sometimes run with

At first i didn't like the 1995 grill as much as the 1997. But now i think i prefer it. Just a change in heart i guess. Just like girls.

This thread is really pointless. There are 10's of thousands of people on this board. Surely you can't be that much of an idiot to ask if you're the only one that hates 95/6's. This is just a reason to get flamed, we all have our differences, but when comparing a car with such little differences it is just plain pointless.

I went to a Nissan dealership for a preview of the new 2000 Maxima in May 1999 and was disappointed when I saw how fugly they were. I am still of this opinion. Don't go flaming the 4th Gens when you're driving a 2000 Max.

I like the 2002 and 2003 Maximas, however.

Wow, I 180^ disagree with you. I was going to do a conversion on my '96 just for the Stillen lip alone (both the '97 bumper and '97 lip are sitting in my rafters). It is priceless how the '97 Stillen lip goes up and over the inside ledge for a no-seem look (I have never seen a '95/'96 Stillen lip without an air gap - I know I could never get rid of mine). And those two little air inlets on the '97 Stillen lip are just oh so sexy...

OK, had I had a choice I would have liked to have a 99 but I got a 95. I would have liked an SE but I got a GXE. I would have liked either a white, black or silver exterior but I got gold. I would have liked a black interior but I got beige. I would have liked a 5 spd manual but I got the automatic.

But I didn't have a choice and since I got the car for free from my brother-in-law and it's the nicest car I've ever owned, I can't complain.
