Cleaning inside of Intake Manifold... what do I use???

I recently got an IM off a max with 170k on it, i am in the process of polishing it but i looked inside the IM and it is all black and dirty looking, how would I go about cleaning the inside so there is better air flow???

Thanks guys

Not sure if it will help airflow out by much, but usually carb/TB cleaner will do the trick .

Or you can purchase intake cleaner, but carb/tb cleaner should be fine.

Like NmexMAX says. But what would possess you to buy an intake manifold with 170K on it? What was wrong with the one you had? Couldn't you find one to replace it with fewer miles. I'm not sure if it would make a difference if it was 70K or 170K.

Is there such a thing as an acid bath or something you can immerse the intake manifold in? How do they clean up heads, pistons and crankshafts etc. when engines are rebuilt?
