has anybody regreased their starter?

i am in the process of putting my starter back together. when i took it apart, there was a rubber piece in the shorter chamber that just fell out and i don't know which way it was set in there. anybody help? also where did you put grease and did it work?

I've never heard on anyone rebuilding a starter before. The problem probably has nothing to do with grease, more likely it is a part inside the starter that has died. Just go out and buy a new one. BTW even if you did somehow fix the starter chances are it would just brake on you again. Check around your local auto parts stores because a new Nissan one is probably way over priced.

i'm not rebuilding the starter. i took it apart to regrease it and clean it...which several people have done in the past...and now i'm putting it back together

yo, you won't believe this. i was trying to put everything together so i can put it away and every piece i put in somehow just fell into place, and that rubber piece was in-between the 2 compartments. everything is together and i'm gonna try it in the morning. i'll let you know how it goes.

I knew you were ****ed when you just broke out. I was like "damn" then I turned the PC off went turned on the TV to watch Martin. I hope I did help you out some tho. Good luck.

You helped me so much, cuz I wouldn't of figure out how to put it back together and I didn't know if I was greasing it right. And you helped me.
