tail light idea

has anyone considered separating a set of atcheezas and a set of stock lamps and combining the housing from the altezza and the lens from the stock lamp? it would produce the atcheeza "wow effect" when the lights are on but still appear stock. anyone thought of this?--dave

Whats the point of using an aftermarket housing? It's cheaper material than the stock plastic, and possibly doesnt fit as well...

I got an idea. How about putting LEDs in the taillight and making them look like G35 tails. And umm adding flouresent light cover pieces to get them to look better with a White/Red effect. Oh wait................

one of the members local to me swears he has seen a max with all clear tails (inners and outers)...this is the only thing i could think that someone did unless they had them custom made from a place like kklears.

i dont think you quite understand. i am talking about removing the lens from an altezza tail lamp and putting the factory lens in its place. i would do this because i like the light pattern the altezzas produce but i think they are hideous. the lights would appear stock but when the lights are on or the brakes are engaged they would light up with 2 circles. i dont know how the altezza housing and the factory lens would match up but if they fit i think it would look cool.... somebody try it!

Why are there so many Alteeza haters on the Org? I dont get it...

To those haters with Red-Clears keep an eye on how many OEM Hondas, Toyotas, Hyundais etc. Come with very similar red-clears stock.

Just my opinion

They're just scared of change.

And ugly tail lights of course. I like my DTM just fine.

SO because those companies were smart enough make to make the car look good we should avoid that and get alteezas to be different.

My point was that many haters call Alteezas ricey, While red clears come on some of the crappyest, riceyest cars on the road.

I dont mind red clears, just tired of the haters

I think the GenII's in gunmetal look really cool. Expensive, but cool. Red Clears do look much better than stock, I just dont see why so many people are in love with them

Seems like group think to me

ok, number one, that whole altezza and stock headlight mixing thing would not work cause youd just have a bunch of altezza lights put in different places with no 2 red globes to make them look like red globes so you would just have stray light all over the place in all the wrong places. at least thats how i visualize it. and yeah, im with you hitman, ive never understood why people hate the altezzas so much, i mean, its there opinion but i think they look pretty nice for the most part, i mean, i like red-clears too, but the twin globes are just sexy as H*** at night. the skyline mod is cool too but sometimes turns out looking a little funny or out of place IMO...but i guess everybodys got there own opinion. its like the whole stillen body kit thing, i mean, the stillen is nice, id go for it, but i prefer the skyline kit cause i think the styling of my car goes with it and for some other peoples it does too. yeah, i got off on a tangent i think, but this is just my 2 cents.

please read more carefully, inners and outers. i'm not talking about the apc outer clears that were made...all clear inners were never made, so obviously the person had to do something custom.

I did the altezza red/clear mod (omg he mixed the two words!!!) for the 95/96.

I took an altezza lens and put it over a stock housing to have a clear facing. I painted the INSIDE of the lens red on the bottom have for my brake and left the top part clear. Looks really nice IMO. I need to bum a DC from someone to take some pics... got some need LED's in the Cefiro's now too...

DISCLAIMER: Pics in sig are old. The last one on the right was my favorite. 95/96 all clears turned into 95/96 DTM red/clears. Acetone pwned me.

damn.... i got flamed out haha. i dont like altezzas either but i like the dual round glow. but youre right about the light dispersing all over the tail light. i doubt it would make 2 halos when the oem lens in on the altezza housing.
