Front Wheel bearing help

Hi my mechanic wants to change the driver side front bearing, since the maxima is making noises. Is it necessary to change the hub? he said something about the hub


Please advise.

There is what is called a "race" inside the hub that the bearing runs on. It is removable so that if the bearing does go bad you dont have to replace the hub, just the race. So no, you should hot have to replace the hub.

If memory serves correctly, u just need to replace the wheel bearing and a seal.
