i'm not quite sure if this is normal. the reservoir by the coolant n washer fluid. i'm pretty sure that it is the tranny fluid correct me if i'm wrong. but that seems to be boiling when my car is on. now it seems a lil wierd to me. i probably did this the hard way, but i changed my automatic tranny filter n filled it up through the dip-stick hole. i dunno why i did it that way but i did. n now i just noticed that my brake fluid isn't clear anymore. i'm guessing its time for me to change my fluids n buy the speed bleeders. but does your resevoir boil when your car is on???? like it literally looks like boiling water...should i be concerned??

M brake fluid does the same as well ...

Bleed your brakes, this rids the old fluid .. or better yet have someone bleed your brakes for you ...

No, he is talking about the Power Steering tank, it is air bubbles, not heat bubbles.

I would assume that you are looking at the power steering res. The fluid will be circulated by the pump, maybe it just looks like it's boiling. Trans fluid and power steering fluid are both hydraulic fliud. I assumed you were looking at the power steering fluid because it's red, like trans fluid. As far as boiling? The steering fluid shouldn't be boiling, just circulating. Same for transmission fluid. Is it the one with the black cap and dipstick? If so, it's the power steering fluid. The auto transmission fills through the dipstick tube, unless I missed something or the maxima has some way that most don't.

You did say next to the antifreeze and washer fluid bottles, right?

that shoudn't be cool ... so ur PS steering is looking tan colored after it has foamed up, right?

it's a sign there's a air leak in ur system ... is the power steering a bit stiff lately?

our 89 celica had this stupid problem.

nope, no foam, just seeling bubbles n looks like the resovior has a lot of hot water in it. my steering is fine. very smooth....so i'm guessing its normal....

same thing, bubbles, steering is smooth as butter. i got it after doing the turkey baster method for changing the PS fluid. I've read on a chrysler/dodge forum and it has instructions to turn the wheel lock to lock numerous times to rid of any possibility of air going into the system? I have no time to test it out, but if anyone wants to fancy it.
